Time and consistency are essential for successfully training your canine companion. If you are a busy professional, a full-time student, the head of a bustling household, lead an active lifestyle, or simply lack the time or patience to commit to training—or if you’re looking to transform a well-behaved dog into an exceptional one, the Resident Board & Train Program is the ideal solution for you.

The Resident Board & Train Program requires a minimum stay of 21 days. At West Texas Dog Trainer, I am committed to ensuring that every dog meets the established training standards before completing the program. Your dog will not be sent home after 21 days if they have not yet achieved the required level of training. Should additional time be necessary to meet these standards, it will be provided at no extra cost to you.  This program is designed to deliver a high standard of training rather than being bound by a fixed timeframe.

While most dogs complete their training within 21 to 30 days, some may require more time based on their individual learning pace and unique capabilities. Every dog is treated as an individual, and the program is tailored to ensure success at their own speed. My priority is to provide thorough and effective training experience that sets your dog up for lasting success.

I will train your dog in a range of obedience concepts and commands, with the ultimate goal of achieving advanced off-leash obedience. This level of training is carefully refined to ensure precision and reliability, giving you the confidence to enjoy and work with your dog in a variety of real-world situations.

Once your dog is ready to return home, I provide a personalized, one-on-one send-home lesson to teach you commands, training techniques, and proper use of provided equipment. This session ensures you feel confident in maintaining your dog’s training upon your return home.  Additionally, I offer lifetime support for as long as you own your dog, ensuring continued success for you and your canine companion.

Your dog will stay with my family and me in a secure, comfortable, 3,000-square-foot climate-controlled training facility designed specifically for dogs. The facility features state-of-the-art kennels with integrated air conditioning and heating, maintaining a consistent temperature of 67 degrees year-round to ensure your dog’s comfort.

This purpose-built facility allows training to continue uninterrupted, regardless of inclement weather. During their stay, your dog will participate in high-distraction training and receive socialization with various people and other dogs, both inside and outside the training environment, to prepare them for real-world situations.

Your dog(s) will train and work in a variety of public and private settings to ensure well-rounded behavior and obedience. They will learn to follow commands in home environments as well as in public spaces such as restaurants, stores, parks, trails, public events, and during daily walks. Throughout this process, your dog will be exposed to interactions with unknown adults, children, unfamiliar dogs, unfamiliar power equipment, moving vehicles, and other animals, building confidence and reliability in diverse real-world situations.

Throughout your dog’s time in the training program, you will have the opportunity to track their progress through video clips of training sessions, which will be sent directly to you. These clips will also be shared on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok for your enjoyment and to celebrate your dog’s transformation.

I encourage you to share these videos and posts with friends and family so they, too, can follow your dog’s journey and growth. It is important to me that you see and feel confident in the exceptional progress your dog is making throughout their training experience.

My focus extends beyond training to include your dog’s health and nutrition, ensuring they remain happy and healthy throughout their stay. During the training process, I pay close attention to your dog’s well-being and provide personalized nutritional advice and options to support their overall health. I also collaborate with clients to address any specific health concerns, helping your dog thrive both during training and after they return home.  Upon entering the program, each dog is carefully weighed, and I provide weekly updates on their weight and overall health throughout their time in the training environment. This ensures that your dog’s well-being is closely monitored, allowing for any necessary adjustments to maintain their health and happiness during their stay.  I maintain close relationships with some of the top emergency veterinarians in the local area and have direct access to them in case of any emergencies during training. Your dog’s health and happiness are always my top priorities, guiding everything I do.
